The Topps Company, Inc. launched its new baseball app, Topps Pennant, on Monday and is hosting an online giveaway.

What is your favorite Tigers memory? The contest is up and running and goes through Tuesday. Justin Verlander tweeted about the contest on Monday …

I had my daughter and youngest son before game in the left field stands by the outfield fence. My daughter wanted me to ask a player for a ball by the outfield wall. I told her to ask and she got Terry Francona to hand her a ball over the outfield fence. At that same time, my son got a …   more ›

Wyandotte Bears Football Team Continues Tackling Community Service

The Roosevelt High School students help read to elementary students and clean up city cemetery.

The Wyandotte Bears football team remains strong, both on and off the field. Head coach Ron Adams has long stressed the importance of community service to his players through his virtues program. In March, the players helped celebrate Read Across America by visiting the district's four elementary schools and reading to the children. In April, the players helped Wilson Middle School's Warrior Science Club clean up Oakwood Cemetery for the seventh consecutive year. "We are very proud of our players for making a commitment to making a difference," Adams said. "Go BEARS!" To see more photos of the Bears in action, check out the team's community service photo gallery.

100 Years Ago Tiger Stadium Opened: Share Your Memories

The Detroit Tigers played their first game 100 years ago at Navin Field, a new stadium at Michigan and Trumbull. What are your memories from the ballpark at "The Corner."

A century ago the Detroit Tigers moved into a new ballpark at Michigan and Trumbull. From 1912 until 1999, some of the greatest ballplayers in the major leagues played at the stadium. What are your favorite memories from old Tiger Stadium? Was it the 1984 or 1968 World Series? Or maybe attending a game with a school group? Or was it sitting in the stand with your father and grandfather? Share your memories in the comment section on Patch, and upload some of your favorite photos to site.

Fox Detroit Tigers Announcer Talks Opening Day, Bullpen, World Series

Patch asks Macomb Township resident, Tigers expert and Fox Sports Detroit baseball announcer Mario Impemba to weigh in on the team's strengths and playoff possibilities.

With the first pitch of Opening Day only a few hours away, Patch caught up with Macomb Township's resident Tigers expert Fox Sports Detroit baseball announcer Mario Impemba to ask his thoughts on the team's strengths and odds for the season. Impemba has been the TV voice for the Detroit Tigers on Fox Sports Detroit since 2002 and provides the play-by-play calls alongside color commentator Rod Allen. Patch: What does Opening Day mean to you? Impemba: Opening Day to me is much more than the actual game, it's an event. It's a day that represents a fresh start to the new year. You can feel that summer is right around the corner and the city comes alive. Opening Day is celebrated in Detroit like no other city. Patch: How do you feel about this …
