Wyandotte Preparing for 2013 Local Election
The filing deadline is Dec. 4 for those wanting to run for office in the 2013 Wyandotte local election.
With this year’s presidential election now over, the city of Wyandotte is looking to its May 7, 2013 local election. On the ballot next year will be the offices of mayor, assessor, treasurer and city clerk, as well as six City Council seats. The person elected for each office will serve a four-year term. For those interested in running for one of the seats, the deadline to file with the City Clerk’s office is Dec. 4. If enough people decide to run, a primary election would be held Feb. 26 to decide who appears on the ballot, Deputy City Clerk Maria Johnson said.
