Donations for Hurricane Sandy Victims Still Accepted Today by Wyandotte Rotary

Items can be dropped off from 4 to 7 p.m. today at 2430 Biddle Ave.

The Wyandotte Rotary Club and Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital are teaming up for one more day to help gather donations for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Continuing an effort begun last week, donations will be collected from 4 to 7 p.m. today at 2430 Biddle, which is a hospital-owned building that is located across the street from the facility. Wyandotte Rotary Club member Jay Blackburn said last week’s donation drive went well, but they can still use more supplies to help those in need. Blackburn said all donations collected at the site during the last two weeks would be loaded onto a truck and taken to the East Coast later this week. Once the truck arrives, he said the local Rotary members making the trip would meet up with East Coast…

Wyandotte Rotary Club Collecting, Then Driving Donations to Hurricane Sandy Victims

Items will be accepted from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday in partnership with Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital.

The Wyandotte Rotary Club and Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital have teamed up to help gather donations for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Donations will be collected from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday at 2430 Biddle, which is a hospital-owned building that is located across the street from the hospital. The building was recently purchased from the Knights of Columbus. A truck will be leaving on Saturday, delivering the supplies to the East Coast, Wyandotte Rotary Club member Jay Blackburn said. Once the truck arrives, he said the local Rotary members making the trip would meet up with East Coast Rotary members and help them distribute the donations. BASF Donates $1,000 to Penrickton Center for Blind Children

Wyandotte chemical company supports services for children, families.

BASF, of Wyandotte, recently presented a $1,000 donation to Penrickton Center for Blind Children, in Taylor. Penrickton is a nonprofit residential and day care agency serving blind, multi-disabled children ages 1 through 12. “Teaming up with Penrickton is about helping to make our community better,” said Greg Pflum, Vice President and General Manager – Midwest Hub for BASF in North America.
