WATCH: Traffic Jam Boutique's Prom Fashion Show

About 500 people attended the Sunday event at Crystal Gardens.

Traffic Jam Boutique hosted its eighth annual Prom Fashion Show on Sunday at Crystal Gardens in Southgate. About 500 people attended to see a runway filled with everything from prom dresses to homecoming dresses and wedding gowns to black tie formal wear. "You name it, we had it all," owner Mikelle Vargas said. Local photographer Anthony DeCuir attended the event and captured part of it on video. Prom Dresses Are Guaranteed to be One-of-a-Kind

Traffic Jam Boutique tracks sales to ensure that girls from the same school don't order the same dress. Upcoming styles will be shown at a Jan. 16 fashion show.

Many people may have focused on Christmas or New Year's Eve, but many high school girls around the area already have one other important day on their mind: Prom. Despite the snow on the ground and the mercury struggling to hit freezing, high school girls know that, before long, the snow will be melted, the flowers will be in bloom and the search for the perfect prom dress will be under way. Those looking to get a jump on the prom shopping season will have the perfect chance when Traffic Jam Boutique hosts its fifth annual Prom Fashion Show. The festivities begin at 2 p.m. Jan. 16 at Crystal Gardens Banquet Center, 16703 Fort St., Southgate.
