Wyandotte's SixthMan Video Doesn't Make Cut in Statewide Contest

Wyandotte finished in 9th place, but only the top five moved on in the Battle of the Fans contest.

Roosevelt High School's student section is filled with school pride, but those who make up the SixthMan will have to try again next year to be rewarded for their antics. Wyandotte entered a video of their student section into the Michigan High School Athletic Association's second annual Battle of the Fans contest, but fell short in making the cut. Wyandotte finished in 9th place out of 27 entries, but only the top five moved on in the contest. Frankenmuth won last season’s inaugural “Battle of the Fans” and is again among this year's finalists, along with Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard, Buchanan, Vandercook Lake and Zeeland East. “We were ecstatic with the positive buzz generated by last year’s contest, and this year’s got rolling quickly with …

Wyandotte's SixthMan Brings New Dimension to the Game

The Roosevelt basketball student section is in the running for a statewide Battle of the Fans contest.

The group of young men that represent our school as a sixth man do an outstanding job as far as the themes they set up, the interaction with the crowd, the excitement that they generate. You can just feel the energy. And I think it …
