Wyandotte's Miss Michigan Named Spokeswoman of Foundation for Rare Syndrome

The Beautiful You MRKH Foundation offers support and increases awareness of a syndrome that causes woman to be born without a uterus.

Miss Michigan USA, Jaclyn Schultz, of Wyandotte, was recently named spokeswoman for a foundation that offers support to women with a little known syndrome called Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser (MRKH). Schultz, 24, said she is one of about 75,000 women in the United States to be born without a uterus, in an interview with WXYZ.com. Beautiful You MRKH Foundation creates a supportive community that partners with health care professionals to increase awareness and empower women of all ages with MRKH to feel beautiful, just as they are, according to the foundation website. City Officials to Post Miss Michigan Signs Around Wyandotte

Department of Public Service employees will begin creating signs to commemorate Wyandotte's own Jaclyn Schultz--Miss Michigan USA.

Soon everyone who enters Wyandotte will know about a local celebrity who is poised to compete in the 2013 Miss USA Competition. City council members approved a request to place signs at various entrances to the city stating Wyandotte is the "Home of 2013 Miss Michigan--Jaclyn Schultz." Schultz was crowned Miss Michigan USA in September 2012 in Port Huron. Mayor Joseph Peterson said he wants people to know how special it is to have one of Wyandotte's own competing for Miss USA. Department of Public Service employees will begin creating signs, which will be placed at designated locations in the city. Wyandotte Native Jaclyn Schultz to Compete in Miss USA Competition

The date of the 2013 Miss USA Competition was released Thursday and the former Miss Wyandotte and current Miss Michigan, Jaclyn Schultz, will be part of the show.

Wyandotte is known for beauty of different kinds. The Detroit River. Bishop Park. Jaclyn Schultz. The former Miss Wyandotte and current Miss Michigan will be competing in the 2013 Miss USA Competition on June 16 at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The competition is scheduled to air live on NBC from 9 to 11 p.m., according to a Miss USA release. Schults, 24, was crowned Miss Michigan USA on Sept. 29 at McMorran Theater in Port Huron. She was selected among 70 other contestants competing for the crown. Miss Michigan Misses Crown, New York to Reign as Miss America in 2013

Shelby Township native and former Miss St. Clair Shores, Angela Venditti, competed for the title of Miss America on Saturday.

Miss Michigan represented the Mitten State with pride but won't be bringing the Miss America crown home to the Motor City in 2013. Angela Venditti, of Shelby Township, competed against 52 other women Saturday night at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for the title of Miss America. Miss New York, Mallory Hytes Hagan, was ultimately crowned and will be the recipient of a $50,000 scholarship. Venditti arrived in Las Vegas earlier this week to take part in a series of preliminary competitions leading up to the Jan. 12 pageant. She did not advance to the semifinal round. Miss Michigan Takes the Stage Tonight for the Miss America Crown

Macomb County native Angela Venditti will compete tonight in the Miss America Pageant in Las Vegas.

Miss Michigan will try to outshine 52 other women tonight at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas to become Miss America. Angela Venditti, of Shelby Township, has been competing all week in preliminary competitions leading up to the pageant at 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12. The pageant, hosted by Chris Harrison and Brooke Burke-Charvet, will be broadcast on ABC-TV nationally and on WXYZ-Channel 7 locally. Venditti, who was Miss St. Clair Shores when she was crowned Miss Michigan in June, has a platform of "Above the Influence: Keeping Kids Drug Free." Patch will have results after the pageant. Miss Michigan Begins Quest for Miss America Crown

After several stops in Wyandotte a few months ago, Miss Michigan Angela Venditti is Las Vegas bound to compete in the Miss America Pageant on Jan. 12.

After years of dreaming, and months of preparation, Miss Michigan Angela Venditti begins her journey Wednesday to be crowned Miss America. Venditti, of Shelby Township, was Miss St. Clair Shores when she was crowned Miss Michigan in June. Since the Miss Michigan Pageant in Muskegeon, she has been preparing for the Miss America Pageant Jan. 12 at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. "It has been a whirlwind," said Venditti, who has traveled thousands of miles and covered nearly the entire state. "There has been a lot of planning for Miss America." Before Miss Michigan Angela Venditti competes in the Miss America Pageant on Jan. 12, supporters can cast a vote to make her the People's Choice.

Angela Venditti will soon be heading to Las Vegas to compete in the Miss America Pageant at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Before she competes, though, supporters can cast a vote for her as People's Choice for Miss America.  Click on People's Choice for Miss America to watch Venditti's video vote once before voting ends on Jan. 10. New Miss Michigan Jaclyn Schultz Will be Positive Voice for the State

Wyandotte woman, 24, adjusting to life after capturing the crown; will represent Michigan at Miss USA pageant.

Jaclyn Schultz, of Wyandotte, was networking in her career as a media strategist when she decided to enter the Miss Michigan pageant as a new challenge. A newcomer to pageants, Schultz was hoping to finish in the top 15. But instead, she won the crown. Schultz, 24, who works for Brogan & Partners in Birmingham, was crowned Miss Michigan USA 2013 at ceremonies in Port Huron. Wyandotte's Jaclyn Schultz Wins Miss Michigan USA

The 2006 Roosevelt High School graduate will move onto the Miss USA contest.

Wyandotte's Jaclyn Schultz was crowned Miss Michigan USA on Saturday night. More than 100 young women from throughout the state gathered in Port Huron this weekend for the two-day contest. Schultz, a 2006 Roosevelt High School graduate, recently won the title of Miss Wyandotte USA, which allowed her to compete in the Miss Michigan USA contest. Now that she's won that, she'll be competing in the Miss USA 2013 contest, which will be broadcast live on NBC in June. Schultz is a graduate of Central Michigan University and is currently enrolled for her master's degree at Michigan State University. She works as a media buyer for Brogan and Partners in Birmingham. Miss Michigan Shares Anti-Drug Message with Wyandotte Students

In the wake of a relative's death, Angela Venditti has focused her platform on reaching young people.

Having volunteered with anti-drug causes since she was 14 years old, Angela Venditti said a family tragedy struck her especially hard at age 20. Her close friend and cousin, Natalie, died of a heroin overdose in 2008. And now as the reigning Miss Michigan 2012, Venditti is sharing her personal story in hopes of reaching other young people. While her focus is on prevention, the 24-year-old said she tailors her talk depending on the age of her audience. "With the younger kids, it's about working on decision-making skills and things like that," she said.
