Ever want to start the day with a big bowl of vanilla ice cream? Tongue's Protein Bar and Chill Lounge in Wyandotte lets you enjoy ice cream anytime of day with the utmost discretion. The hit coffee this season is the affogato, which means drowned in Italian. Tongue's owner and head barista Tim Tongue, 23, selected the ice cream-based drink as the official coffee of spring. Tongue starts with two scoops of vanilla ice cream, "drowns" the ice cream in espresso and garnishes the drink with fresh coffee grounds. Ice cream anytime. Mmm. Tongue's recently changed their hours to 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Greg Tongue travels the country repairing industrial gas burners for big industries. In all of his journeys, he always makes sure to check out the local coffeehouses. Being into health and fitness, the one thing he’s always after is coffee with a splash of protein. Mix that hope with his eager 21-year-old son’s desire to start a business and you have the new Biddle Avenue coffeehouse that’s creating a lot of buzz in Wyandotte.
