Wyandotte Woman Struck, Killed by Train
A 25-year-old woman died in an apparent suicide Wednesday morning near 9th and Maple.
A 25-year-old Wyandotte woman was struck and killed by a train Wednesday morning on the railroad tracks near 9th and Maple. The train was traveling southbound on the tracks at about 5:15 a.m. when it struck the woman. Her body was thrown a distance from the tracks. A suicide note was found at the scene. "Investigators on the scene determined that she was sitting between the rails on the track, and despite the engineer sounding his horn several times, it was obvious that she had no intentions of exiting the tracks," Wyandotte Police Chief Daniel Grant said.
