Wyandotte City Clerk William Griggs is urging voters to study the ballot before Election Day.

The deadline to register to vote in the Nov. 6 general election is just around the corner.  Voters have until Oct. 9 to register at Wyandotte City Hall, any Secretary of State office or by mail. In order to vote, you must: People who will be unavailable to vote in person on Election Day can apply for an absentee ballot. (See the PDF to the right for an application form.) Once you're geared up and ready to vote, Wyandotte City Clerk William Griggs has some words of advice: Study the ballot before Election Day so you'll know how you want to vote. Postcards Mailed to Wyandotte Absentee Voters

Citizens for Responsible Government in Wyandotte is urging a 'yes' vote on millage question.

Absentee voters in Wyandotte soon should be getting a blue and gold postcard in the mail urging them to support a 1.75 millage increase on the Nov. 8 ballot. The cards were paid for and mailed by Citizens for Responsible Government in Wyandotte, which is run by residents Richard Miller and Larry Tavernier. Both men are cable volunteers and are regulars at Wyandotte City Council meetings, filming away to ensure residents can watch the meetings from home. Miller and Tavernier said the millage is essential to maintaining the level of city services that people have become accustomed to in Wyandotte. “We hope everyone supports the millage and votes yes,” Miller said at Monday night’s council meeting when he announced that the postcards had been…

I plan to support the millage. I want to know that if I need the EMS, fire or police responders they will be there for me. We have a great community with good services such as our library, events, museum, etc. We need to keep it that way by giving the extra support needed during these hard times.   more ›
