As you prepare for the holiday, try a few of these Christmas cookie recipes.
Here are a few of my favorite Christmas cookie recipes. Most of these are easy to make and kid friendly. Enjoy! Ingredients: Crush the cookies in a plastic bag with a rolling pin or in a food processor until the cookies are almost powder-like. Mix in the softened cream cheese and stir well. You can make as many different sizes as you want or have space for. Microwave the candy coating and be ready to apply right away, while it is still hot. Once it hardens, you won't be able to cover the cookies. Add your favorite sprinkles while candy coating is still soft. Set cookies on wax paper and place in freezer for 10-15 minutes, at least. What do plant-loving moms really want for Mother's Day? Patio flowers with exotic fragrances, trendy vertical gardens, a 'greens' garden, and ... a great big pile of mulch with all hands on deck.
If you’re one of the countless people who buy flowers for Mom on Mother’s Day, good for you … and great for Mom! There’s nothing like a big bouquet to brighten the day. Area gardening experts suggest taking Mom’s love of flowers a few steps further by picking up a plant for her that she can enjoy, perhaps as a centerpiece on Mother’s Day but then on her patio or deck as an added adornment this summer. We're enjoying, if that's the right word, a record-setting March – for a few more days, at least.
It's another week for bare limbs, open-toe footwear and iced beverages. It's also time to consider indoor climate control. The letters A-C are being heard in households, shops and offices – sometimes along with a whirring sound that signals chill out. Though the calendar says first week of spring, the temperature – above 80 again Thursday – says midsummer. With DTE Energy always telling us we can save by cutting our use, is a joke. Then they go to Lansing, where they cry, less demand, we need another rate increase. Just like Detroit, Water, and Consumer gas. Cut back all you want, but your still going to pay for it in higher cost because the PSC in Lansing has a rubber stamp, yes to every rate increase, just like the Insurance commission.   more ›
