Great Escape: Sew Up a Great Night Out

This week's getaway will leave you in stitches.

This week's Great Escape is for anyone who loves to sew and is looking to learn new things.

is offering a machine quilting class from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday that will teach you how to use your darning foot to quilt designs such as names, hearts and flowers. The cost of the class is $15.

The last Thursday of every month, Sew What gives away a free jelly roll pattern or charm pattern to make a small quilt. There also will be a featured kit for the pattern offered at 20 percent off. Not only will you learn new techniques, but you can get a freebie, too.

If you aren't able to make the class Thursday evening, Sew What offers sit-n-stitch open sewing from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Open sewing is free and you may use the mats, rulers and irons at Sew What.

Escape if you can this weekend and sew yourself silly.
